*Win* a Free Visit to Fair Trade Producers and Artisans in Morocco

Through the FRAME Project (Fair and Responsible Action in Mediterranean Area), Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust is able to sponsor two persons a trip in Morocco to meet Fair Trade producers and local artisans in March/April 2012.

At the moment Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust shall be coordinating with its partners in the project the visit with producers in Morocco. The exact days and the program of the events in Morocco will be put on the website in the coming days.

The opportunity is open to anyone who is interested in Fair Trade and labour rights in developing countries.

Since only two candidates may be selected for this trip, applicants will have to prove their interest in Fair Trade and labour rights.

The Full Program
The visit is 8 days long and will be between the Sunday 25th March 2012 and Sunday 2nd April 2012. The full program can be found here

What do you have to do?

  • Propose an innovative idea on how to boost Fair Trade in the Maltese Islands. The write up should be presented in a maximum of 500 words long (Times New Roman, Font 12), clearly demonstrating the impact of your idea. Participants should include their name, age, address and email address.

About the Project

The FRAME Project is a EuropeAid sponsored project consisting of 8 partner organizations from Italy, Malta, Greece, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain. The objective of the project is to identify ways on how to improve living and working conditions for marginalised farmers and artisans especially in the Mediterranean Area Countries. This is achieve through an increased awareness of the Barcelona process and on the Fair Trade, Responsible Tourism, responsible consumption and cultural exchanges as concrete instruments for the promotion of the "Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development".

 
Terms and conditions:

  • Open to Maltese residents, aged 18 and over
  • Ideas are to be submitted either in Maltese or English
  • There is a maximum entry of one entry per person
  • Only eligible candidates will be selected
  • Short listed individuals might be asked for an interview
  • The winners will be selected by KKG committee, Project Manager and an external candidates
  • KKG will select the winners by 31.12.11
  • Participants must be ready to travel for a week between March 2012 and April 2012. The dates of the trip in Morocco will be announced later on
  • Participants must be ready to volunteer with KKG after the trip for at least a year
  • A Mediterranean Festival is envisioned to take place in May 2012 where participants will be asked to showcase their ideas on the Mediterranean
  • The trip to Morocco includes airline tickets and per diems for accommodation, internal travel and food
  • The selected candidate will have to enter into an agreement with Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust or one of its partner organizations (ask for more information) and carry out work a number of hours of voluntary service. This will vary depending on the nature of the work and the wishes of the volunteer.
