Fair Trade Spring Board

Jump with us into the World of Fair Trade

Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust is inviting the public to participate in our forthcoming training programme on Fair Trade and related poverty issues that the majority of world’s population faces on a daily basis. Our workshops are aimed at our members and volunteers though the public is encouraged to participate in the educational activities and participate in the ensuing discussions.

Trainings shall be divided over the following two days:

Friday 12th of November
Monday 15th of November
5.00pm - 7.00 pm
Dar l-Ewropa, Triq San Pawl Valletta.

On Friday 12th November we will deliver workshops aimed at explaining some of the basic labour rights offered by the Fair Trade Mark. The workshops will focus on the Cocoa Industry as a model example of labour rights for disadvantaged producers.

On Monday 15th November we will examine in depth the effect of Fair Trade on marginalized producers by presenting a research about Fair Trade producers in Palestine and in Egypt. The presentation will also focus on the meaning of Fair Trade for consumers in Malta. Part of this research shall be presented through screen the film “Fair Tales” a film that deals with a singer who travels to different countries and meets the Fair Trade producers themselves.

Participants should confirm their attendance by emailing Mahira Sheik on mahira@l-arka.org or by phone on 79299995
