I SHOP FAIR Newsletter

As part of its outreach campaigns Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust has embarked on the 'I SHOP FAIR' project, an educational project that campaigns for fair working conditions worldwide. The aim of the project is to create a network of ethical consumers. The project includes partners from Austria (Südwind Agentur), Czech Republic (Společnost pro Fair Trade) and Germany (Christliche Initiative Romero) and is being co-funded by EuropeAid. Annual General Meeting - Open Invitation

The 2008/09 Annual General Meeting of Koperattiva Kummerc Gust will be held on Monday 16th November 2009 at 18.30pm at Sarria, Floriana.

The following matters will be presented at the AGM:

1. Opening of the meeting
2. Matters of order for the meeting
3. Overview of Activities carried out in 2008
4. Overview of Activities being carried out in 2009
5. Planning for 2009 till May 2010.
6. Open forum
7. Auditor's Report
8. Appointment of new committee
9. Closing of the meeting.

The AGM is open to the public but only members have voting rights.

Searching for Partners in Youth Exchange Programme

Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust is planning to host a 5 day seminar for youths (ages 15 to 25) on Fair Trade, development issues and the North-South divide early next year. Participation for the seminar shall be funded by the Youth in Action Budget (Action 3.1 - Cooperation with the neighboring countries of the EU). The Youth in Action Budget will amongst other costs, cover 70% of all travel costs for all the youths participating in the seminar.

Organizations interested in sending youths to participate during the seminar are encouraged to email us on info@l-arka.org. This project applies to all non-profit organisations or associations located in either a Programme Country or in a country in South East Europe.



Updating Website

During these summer holidays we have managed to update our website, giving more structure to its content, inserting new layouts and pictures. A big Thank-You! goes to the foreign volunteers who spent hours inserting new content on the website.

New Features include:

  1. updating of product list
  2. new layout
  3. enhanced search and security
  4. facebook integration
  5. better content layout
  6. upgrade of CMS
