At the beginning of January 2017 the Sixth Specialized Labor Court of the La Libertad region rejected the demand for reinstatement of the nine SITETSA directory board members, dismissed in February 2016 by the company TALSA for alleged absences of labor discipline and unproven criminal charges. On January 18, the corresponding appeal was filed and has not yet been resolved.

A new hope had arisen before when the TALSA company accepted in July 2016 a mediation process facilitated by the Analysis and Conflict Resolution Center, Pontificia Catholic University of Peru. TALSA requested absolute confidentiality regarding the content of the mediation and its possible results. Nothing should ever be publicly known. But at last there was no result. The mediation failed. The union federation FENTRAIR to which SITETSA belonged until the dismissal of the nine union leaders issued the document that we translated into English and uploaded at BOX: https://app.box.com/files/0/f/6981121481/Peru_TAL_S.A.
